A good makeup brush is like an artist's paint brush.  The right brush can give just the right application of blush, or foundation.  The fact is that most women don't care for their brushes properly.  So how do you care for makeup brushes properly?  

First, you should wash them in soap and water.  This will remove any residue from previous uses.  This residue can cause makeup applications to seem off color due to the residue from previous colors.  This should be done daily, but at the very least, no less then once a week.  There are times when it is not possible to clean them after every application.  We are not always near soap and water when we are applying our makeup.

When drying the brushes, lay them flat.  Standing them up or adding heat to them can cause the glue to come loose and make your makeup brush fall apart.  If the brushes are stuffed in something while they are wet, they can become deformed.   

When you store your brushes, store them away from the makeup.  This will keep them clean and promotes hygiene.  Storing makeup brushes properly can also aid in their longevity of use.
