How to apply eye makeup

Applying eye makeup is truly the art of giving shape and color to your eyes.  The most drawing feature of the human face are the eyes.  Therefore it is important to apply eye shadow correctly because people will be drawn to your eyes and if you want to draw someone’s attention it is doubly important that you apply it correctly.  With eye shadow you can make the eyes smaller, larger and wider.  You can bring out your eye color or draw attention away from it.  There are endless possibilities to what you can do with eye shadow.

As far as color is concerned, you are the artist.  Keep in mind that you want colors that bring out your natural beauty and not necessarily the colors that detract people from your beauty.  Normally, if you find the color that you are ready to use, you can find this color in a color palate that will have complimentary colors.  Why is this important?  If you look good in one color, you will look good in the rest of the complimentary colors.  But this is not the only reason.  These colors can offer depth and dimension to your look.

In your color palate, use a light color that matches your skin tone.  Apply this color form the base of the eyelashes to your eyebrows.  Then use the color of your choice to cover the eyelids.  Make sure you apply it from the corner of your eye (closest to your nose) outwards.  Then with a darker shade, you can use this color to accent the lash line, the corner of the eye and even below your lower set of eyelashes.  For long lasting eye makeup, use your concealer as a base and then a natural eye shadow that also matches your skin and concealer.  When you do this first and apply your three shades of eye shadow afterwards you will create an all day look.  To turn this look into a night time look, add an iridescent eye shadow powder over your eye makeup with an eye shadow bristle brush.

You should also know that there are various types of eye shadows that create different looks.  There are cream eye shadows that offer a beautifully rich color that will attract anyone’s attention.  These cream eye shadows are normally blended with the traditional powdered eye shadows.  There are also powdered eye shadows that you can use dry and wet.  Normally these wet powdered eye shadows give a vibrant and long lasting color.  All you have to do is wet your eye shadow brush and run it over the eye shadow.
With these tips you should create glorious masterpieces that exhibit your radiant eyes.
