Spring is on its way and it's time to throw out the dark, dull neutral colors for spring shades that really pop. Make-up trends for the upcoming season are outrageous, with bright colors that are sure to attract attention.

Faces will be pale, with very little cheek color this Spring. Cheeks will be blushing with a subtle pink wash while the emphasis will be on Technicolor eyes and lips.

Eye colors will be vivid greens, like Make Up For Ever Flash Color in Leaf Green 9, bright blues like Make Up For Ever Flash Color in Turquoise 0.

Lips won't be left out in the color splash. Deep, glossy color will be on lips everywhere, like NARS Lip Gloss in Boogie Nights, a deep violet with a patent leather shine. Dark reds, deep browns and baby pink glosses are both trends that are on the way out. Bright is the latest word for color in the Spring.

If the bright trend is too much for you, there is a more subtle look that is hitting the runways. Rich and glowing is the next big look for the spring, with gold eyes and lips that take on a subtle shimmer, the look is all about understatement with a little zing.

Cheekbones and temples are highlighted with shimmer. Eyes are accented with gold and bronze shadows like Dior Shimmer Star in Rose Diamond and Urban Decay Loose Pigments in Baked. Line the lower lid with eyeshadow and a thin line of dark brown eyeliner pencil.

Spring will usher in a wide variety of bright looks that range from dramatic, eye popping color to sheer, light golds and bronzes that will accentuate blue eyes and light skin. The trends will look equally as good on light skin and dark skin. Play the trends up or down, depending on where you are and how much time you have to get ready in the morning. If the bright shades are too much, pick one bright shade, bright green for your eyes for example, and go nude on the rest of your face.
