How to apply eye liner
Eyeliner can be extremely difficult to apply but after reading this article you should become a pro at applying eyeliner with a little practice, of course. Even choosing an eyeliner can become rather difficult. Eyeliners come in a variety of colors, textures, brands and beginners can become frustrated. People will even get discouraged with eyeliners if they cannot apply them correctly and end up avoiding eyeliner like the plague when it is really just a matter of finding the right one for you. For example if you do not have a steady hand, liquid eyeliner may not be the best eyeliner to begin with. With liquid eyeliner, it does not allow you to make mistakes without having to start over like other eyeliners. And Yes… Starting over means starting EVERYTHING over again. You will have to take off the concealer and eye shadow.
Eyeliners come in a variety of forms which include felt tipped, liquid, pencil and cake eyeliners. You will have to use a steady hand but some of these eyeliners will be easier to cover up mistakes than others. If you do not have a steady hand try first to put a layer of eyeshadow along the base of your eyelashes and then to go over the color with your eyeliner so you are tracing and using the eye shadow line as your guide.
As a guide, always start from the corner of the eye outwards towards the direction of your cheek bone following your natural eye lid line at the base of your eyelashes. Do this first line in a fluid motion and then you can go back to do a touch up if necessary. Normally eye liners are used in order to close the eyes. If you just want to open your eyes, do not use eyeliner. However, if you do want them to be closed a bit and not so open use eyeliner and do not use mascara. Mascara is the antithesis of eyeliner. If you have wide set eyes you should try to emphasize the corner of your eye closest to your nose while those with close set eyes should emphasize the outer part of your eyes. If you want to give your eyes an “eye lift” create a Queen Cleopatra line which slightly is raised at the outer corner of the eye. Also to close the eyes use your eyeliner underneath your eyes. Black eyeliner will close your eyes and white liner will open them.
